EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
State Bar Registration: Can be done at any time and remains valid indefinitely.
Moral Character: A background check that typically takes up to 6 months to process. Once approved, it’s valid for 3 years. Depending on your Bar Exam timeline, you may or may not need to submit it now.
California Bar Exam: Registration opens approximately 3 months before your desired exam date and must be done during the designated window.
MPRE: Can be taken anytime before or after the Bar Exam. In California, the MPRE score doesn’t expire.
It’s essential to organize your application timeline to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled by the time you pass the Bar Exam. Even if you pass the exam, you won’t receive your license until all steps are completed.
